I didnt crash !

I just compleated my first weekend racing with SEMRA - www.semra.org - and man, what a fun time ! I would have never imagined that racing around on my little 125 could be some much fun ! The weekend started out with some great weather - the morning session was great, dry track with tons of traction, but then after lunch the rains came. It didnt stop the racing though ! We are men, not like those Nascar pansies - There were a few incidents during the rain, the good news only one person was hurt enough to need transport to the hospital, better news is that he wasnt hurt extremly bad - " tis meerly a flesh wound " - All in all, it was a great weekdn and Im looking forward to the next race !

Big Slacker -

So its been like over 2 mnths since my last post - Im sure eveyone has given up , but, Ill do better.
So how have things been in Burlington you ask? BUSY ! Thanks to all of our customers and new friends for hanging int with us . Its all very promising, we are continuing to expand and grow and add inventory -as well as fix the shop up by adding displays and other cool stuff. If you havent been in lately, you need to check out Vulcan Blvd. - A.K.A. - cruiser land. A local artist Skee - www.skeeart.com - did us a sweet street secene mural, that along with some other cool touches have really woken up our cruiser corner.
So what else is going on ? We have gotten a bike night going with the best Mexican place here in Burlington , Wholly Guacamole - every Tuesday night we meet at the shop , take a short ride through the country and wind up @ the resturant at about 8 to watch Two Wheel Tuedsay on thier big screen. If your ever in the area its a good time on tuesday night.
We recently attended a NESBA trackday @ Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw SC. and a good time was had by all- well except Matt who had tire issues ( wink, wink). We were joined by Keven ( our sales dude ), Brett and John ( great regular customers - even if Brett rides a RC51 )as well as Amy and myself. As the day went on I came to a couple of things - 1. Hot weather and humidity are not for me and 2. Anyone who can ride a ZX10r to its fullest potential is a God. Thats bike is simply awseome ! Crazy ammounts of speed everywhere with more to spare - I never got out of 4th gear the whole day ! Its a awesome bike ! It really makes mt appericate the skills of the Hayden boys all the more .
So, other than that not alot else has changed - Just busy times. Ill post some pics of the wall and I will do a better job of keeping the posts up - Thaks for checking in and back !

Bike Week !!!

So its friday, March 10th - so what you may ask ? Its bike week thats what !! The single event that gets me through the long, cold , grey winter days - just knowing that its coming gets me throught January and Febuarys duldrums - Its been a great couple of days and all I can say is YEAH !!!!

So why has it been great ? Well , the Superstock and Supersport races were simply awesome ! Superstock was won by Jamie Hacking - yeah, he rides for Yamaha, but, hes OK anyway ( he usedto ride for Suzuki, so hes OK ) . While Supersport was won by Roger Hayden ( on a ZX6RR ! ) while Hacking drafted past Tommy Hayden to sneak second and Tommy was pushed back to 3rd. Both were great races and if its any indication of things yet to come - its going to be a great season for racing fans !

Anothe great thing this week - getting to do some demo rides ! Yep , getting to ride brand new bike in anger at some-one elses expense, awesome ! I got to ride Kawasakis new ZX14, and all I can say is, WOW ! Busa guys, get ready - this bike is mental ! Its so smooth, its sneaky, At one point I looked down and was going well over the speed limit ! And handling , I didnt believe a big bike could flick into a corner like it did - All that and a stupid fast quater mile time ( I got the super fast acceleration head rush again ! ) . I cant wait to get one or two in - get your deposit on one NOW ! I also got to ride a Vulcan 2000, Ive gotten to ride some pretty quick HDs, with a ton of motor mods, big bore kits, ECM downloads, etc. and they can not even come close to matching the thrust this bike has - the torques is amazing ! And that was right after getting off of the ZX14 even - Yep, there are some real great bike out right now, heck , even the new Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 was a great ride . Granted, it was not in the same catagory as the Kawasakis I had just finished riding, but, it was fun anyway.

Tomorrow is the big race, Superbike and the 200 . So who am I hoping to win - Superbike, one of the Haydens of course- Formula Extreme is a hard call. I would like Danny Eslick to do well or ( forgive me ) I wouldlove to see one of the Buells do well - yep , I like the underdogs ! I just think its really cool that Mr. Buell was in the pits and actually wrenching on the rac bikes. How cool is that ?

More monday after we get home, be safe !
